Thermal P.P. - Features

Ansaldo Energia has developed a standard design of the power block for various plants configurations. Subject to minor changes, the basic standard design can be applied anywhere with proper flexibility, thus representing a valid alternative to the fully customized design.

Starting from a pre-engineered basic design, we are able to develop the detailed engineering, taking into account the site-dependent reference data, such as the seismic and geothecnical features, the climatic conditions, the water quality and its availability, assuring optimized solutions both from technical and economical point of view.

We have developed a new range of advance supercritical units, ranging from 400 up to 800 MW, designed to meet the most challenging requirements, as, for the Avedoere 2 (Denmark) Plant, the most advanced Ultra Supercritical steam turbine generator, which supply, in full condensing mode a power amount of 412 MW with an efficiency of 52.9%.

Avedoere DenmarkThe Avedoere 2 CHP plant uses a new multifuel concept and embodies a range of cutting edge technologies, including an ultra supercritical boiler, one of the world's most advanced steam turbines (Ansaldo Energia production), the largest and most efficient biomass boiler yet built, state of the art gas turbine technology and extensive use of new materials.

The purpose of for Avedoere 2 is to meet the growing demand for district heating in the Copenhagen metropolitan region, to reduce CO2, NOx, and SO2 emissions from eastern Denmark's power station by 10%, 20% and 30% respectively, to reduce coal use and increase use of natural gas and biomass. .
